About the Tutorials and Workshops

FPL2014 offered a programme of tutorials and workshops on Monday, September 1 (pre-conference) and Friday, September 5 (post-conference). These sessions provided in-depth coverage of specialised topics within the field-programmable logic domain, complementing the main conference programme held from September 2 to 4.

Proposals for tutorials, pre-conference, and post-conference workshops within the technical scope of FPL were solicited and reviewed by the programme and workshop/tutorial co-chairs. The events covered areas including FPGA architectures, design methods and tools, applications and benchmarks, and emerging trends in reconfigurable computing.

Technical Scope

Workshop and tutorial topics aligned with the core themes of the FPL conference:

  • Architectures and Technology — Dependable, power-efficient FPGA architectures and emerging device technologies.
  • Applications and Benchmarks — Real-world use cases, performance evaluation, and benchmarking of field-programmable systems.
  • Design Methods and Tools — High-level synthesis, verification, and tool flows for FPGA-based design.
  • Surveys, Trends, and Education — Overviews of the state of the art and educational approaches in reconfigurable computing.

Proposal Submissions

Workshop and tutorial proposals were submitted to the programme co-chairs at proposals@fpl2014.org. Each proposal included a subject description outlining the intended content, target audience, and format of the session.
